Hey, Can we talk?
YES, I am looking for YOUR VOTE!
Why?
So that I can work for you as your Rockville City Councilman
for the next term. To be your voice in City Hall. So often
people come to me and say, "Did you know that . . .
?" or "Have you heard . . .?" and I ask if
they have talked to their Councilmen or the Mayor. The usual
comment is, no, because it seems that the politicians do
not listen, or do not care, unless it affects their own
neighborhood directly. But it is their JOB
to listen and act upon your concerns and issues. I want
to make the Rockville City Government accessible to the
citizens and be the voice of the people. I do not believe
that voting the "Slate" is good for all the citizens
of Rockville, instead vote for the individual, whether they
are part of the slate or not, that will serve each
citizen best.

Issues
- Effective city government and the revitalization of
our Town Center.
- Traffic around Rockville. For example, the timing and
placement of traffic lights and signals.
- Parking down town and other areas of Rockville.
- The children and Senior Citizens of Rockville and the
programs that should be available to all of us (libraries,
tutoring and other educational activities. Recreational
centers and sporting events). Where is the new library?
- Sound barriers for CSX/Metro tracks.
Accomplishments
- High-density Illumination
- Re-facing of Community Parks
- CSX Railroad (on going)
- Cleaning of the Track Area
- Installing Sound Barrier
These accomplishments will do done with the assistance
of Federal and Local Government.
Safety
Working with Rockville City Police Sgt. Walsh, we have
restored the green arrow light on Edmonston Drive at Rockville
Pike South. We are currently working on relieving traffic
congestion on Edmonston Drive by restricting the left-hand
turn onto Edmonston Drive from Viers Mill Road form 7:00am
to 9:00am. This will allow the residents of Twinbrook to
have better access to Rockville Pike. With your Support and
Vote I will better be able to serve as your voice and handle
your concerns. I will be working with the following commissions:
- Planning (for the revitalization of the town center
and local communities)
- Traffic & Transportation
- Recreation & Parks
- Human Resources
- Sidewalks (continued construction in the Twinbrook area)
I am hoping to get more seniors involved in mentoring and
providing a positive influence to the youth of our community.
I want to improve Channel 11 to better educate the public
with improved programming, featuring topics such as city
enforcement, "dos and don'ts" of leaf/trash collection,
water issues and employment opportunities, as well as segments
on public safety from our Police and Fire departments.

About Harry
My name is Harry W. Thomas Jr., and I am currently the
block captain coordinator for the neighborhood watch program
that was formed after the 1998 drive-by shooting on Lewis
Ave. The residents of our community decide to establish
the Neighborhood watch program so that we could all live
with better peace of mind. During the past years, I've worked
with Terry Treschuk and Chris Barlett, as well as various
neighborhood services.
History
I was born in 1953 at Suburban Hospital to Audith C. "Fannie"
& Harry W. "Bill" Thomas Sr. My father, Bill,
worked and lived in Rockville most of his life, until his
death in 1991. Fannie also lives in the city. I have a sister,
Sharon, who lived in Rockville most of her life, until moving
to Ormond Beach FL in recent years. I am married and have
three sons and a stepdaughter, who all reside in Rockville.
In April of 1971, I became a member of the Rockville Volunteer
Fire Department, and have remained a volunteer fireman for
the past 30 years. I also hove worked as a volunteer coach
and umpire for the city sport programs because the youth
of our community deserve strong leadership and quality.
